Shaun Murphy's claim
Shaun Murphy claims to have done a 147 break, nine-darter and a hole-in-one. How close have you gone?

Snooker best break 46, still aiming at the elusive 50 break

Golf. maybe 4-5 feet from a par 3 pin. Have only ever had a small handful of birdies in 30+ years

Darts Threw one 180 in 1996 and have had an 83 finish with two darts !!

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
Only achieved one of Murphy’s trio.

IMHO two of his landmarks require a high degree of skill and many hours of practice, even if you have got a good eye.

The outlier of the three is the hole in one. I have done that three times, in competition too.
To be fair as long as the occasional golfer can play a decent, longish, wedge they will eventually hole from the tee. I know two single figure golfers who regularly birdie par threes but they have failed down the years to eagle a par three in competition.

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
If you can hit a 40+ break at snooker you’re a pretty good club player and it would be extremely rare in my experience for someone who isn’t a decent player to get to that level

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
Snooker - 88 is my highest break but haven’t played properly for 20 odd years. Regularly made 50-70 breaks but prefer a game of pool these days

Darts - 11 darter and hundreds of 180s but not played for 30 odd years

Golf - play every week but 2ft is probably the closest I’ve got

Of the 3, golf is the highest skill and most difficult game by far, followed by snooker. You can learn darts pretty easily if you like beer

Snooker - I use the pointy end most times
Golf - I can (Usually) restrain myself from shouting 'Miss!' or 'Golf Wankers' when I happen to be walking alongside the course at Felixstowe.
Darts - I own the distinction of being the only player to successfully get a match abandoned by throwing a dart into a scorers hand whilst filling in for my Dads team at The Hanover, Harwich in 1987.

The only way is up.

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
Rubbish at Snooker, highest break is 41 I think. loads of 180s and a 170 finish in pub leagues, never close to a 9 darter, hole in one on a pitch and putt but never on a proper course. I guess if I played a lot I might get lucky. Which is the easiest?

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
Never had a hole in one, although haven't played golf in decades.

Highest break in snooker only around 25.

Was half decent at arrows back when, never scored a 180 in a proper match, seem to recall I got one once when just messing.

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
I can lay claim to one of those three as I've had two hole in ones in the last 12 years and to put the icing on the cake I'm in a club where if someone gets a hole in one each of us has to give them £100, there's 8 of us in it

Re: Shaun Murphy's claim
I played snooker once in Zan's Snooker hall in Tooting. During a game, which seemed to go on forever, I pocketed three balls on the bounce and racked up 6 points.

i have managed to hit the dartboard many times with all three darts.

Golf? I will not play as it is pretty silly.

I once picked 4 winning horses on the bounce in a game of Escalado

A 500lb back squat and sub 5 min mile in the same day is more my sort of challenge. Can’t do either though!

Hahaha! it's quite rare when I'm playing that the second slider gets troubled too much unless the fouls start to rack up...

Last summer I baggef 2 hole in ones during the same round of golf.

Guess i should add that this rare act of sporting brilliance took place at adventure island in Southend.

I have to say I'm a bit envious that both of you managed to avoid a foul.
